Canada’s main stock index opened higher on Tuesday, aided by gains in resources-linked shares, while easing COVID-19 restrictions in the world’s number two economy, China, raised hopes for stronger growth.

At 9:32 a.m. ET (13:32 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was up 185.23 points, or 0.96%, at 19,443.55.
