Tesla FSD Is All AI Without Hardcoding

Tesla has converted the last piece of Tesla FSD to AI neural networks. The last piece was vehicle control. The 300,000+ lines of C++ control code is now about 3000 lines of code to activate AI neural networks.

Elon Musk says Tesla AI/FSD progress is only compute constrained now and not engineer constrained.

Tesla is scaling up its Dojo and other AI training to 100 Exaflops by the end of 2024. This will put about 50 times more compute for FSD training.

Vehicle control is the final piece of the Tesla FSD AI puzzle. That will drop >300k lines of C++ control code by ~2 orders of magnitude.

It is training as I write this. Our progress is currently training compute constrained, not engineer constrained.

SpaceX Revenue in 2022 and Projected to 2023

There is another relatively thorough attempt to analyze SpaceX revenue. Payload Space underestimated Starlink revenue in October 2022 for 2022 at less than $1B and then had to revise up $1.87B. They are still underestimating for 2023 but it is relatively up to date if SpaceX is unable to really scale Starlink monthly dish production…

Starting in 2024 Ford Will Use Tesla Superchargers and Tesla Charging Interface

Ford will use Tesla’s network of 12000 superchargers starting in 2024 and Ford is now committed to using Tesla’s charging interface. Tesla and Ford might partner on more aspects in the future. A Tesla-developed adapter will provide drivers of Ford EVs fitted with a Combined Charging System (CCS) port access to Tesla’s V3 Superchargers, according…

CALB Claims Better Battery Than Tesla 4680

CALB, a Chinese battery manufacturer China Aviation Lithium Battery, claims its “U-type” battery structure offers higher energy density and faster charging speeds than regular cylindrical cells like the Tesla 4680. CALB has a 4% global market share for batteries in 2022. This places them seventh among the biggest Li-Ion cell manufacturers. CALB introduced a new…
